I remember those days! Wept when first one left, but had one more. When he left I sobbed all the way home from the airport, and then, well, next phase of life began.

Congrats, but don't hold your breath!! We had an empty nest when our baby left for college, but within a very short while, the older daughter moved back home, and has been here for 5 years now! It's ok, though. She says she's getting married next spring, and will move then!!

You put them back?? You can have the whole bag and they will last longer than one sitting! I have been an empty nester for about 4 years and love the experience of if I want I can get it just for me.

Yes, I could have the whole pkg of oreos to myself but with all this free time, the oreos wouldn't stand a chance. And so I bought some cookies that I really don't like..just in case company comes (lol). The goal here is to quilt more, not scoff cookies more. I'm hoping my diet will improve from this point in the new empty nest .

One would think I'd be at the empty nest stage, now that the youngest in on the USS Ronald Reagan.

But, I've told the 2 kids still living here, stay as long as you want, leave whenever you want. They follow our few rules, the house is big and they have the upper front half, and I remember how it was when I got out of college. They pay us monthly for use of the kitchen and laundry room, and like I said, they follow our few rules.

Lucky you! 10 years to after we left our last child at school and became empty-nesters, we left our grandson at college and became empty-nesters again. We got custody of him 3 years after his aunt left home. Now we are both retired and empty-nesters again! It is great! Just hoping he stays in school and doesn't end up coming back. I talked with him today and he said that he loved college as much as he hate high school. That is wonderful, because he really, really, really hated high school!
