My friend wants chocolate cake for her wedding cake. We want to test different recipes for the cake and are also looking for a chocolate cake recipe from Cake Boss. We are unable to get the book since we are making the cake and flowers for my friends wedding (it's our wedding gift to her) any good recipes out there?

I've got a fabulous moist chocolate cake recipe that uses sunflower oil instead of butter. Much healthier. I can easily adjust it for different sizes if you wish. Are you making many tiers?

There are going to three tiers I believe. I'll have to ask my mom, she's the one making it. I know that my mom is waiting for a head count so that we can plan accordingly.

I know we are doing this look (but three instead of however many are there) with red roses, white fondant, and black scrolling.

Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate Cake" is one that I like, and I think there may be other chocolate cake recipes on the Hershey site.

What is the time frame for having the cake done?

(one day before wedding, two days before wedding, one week before wedding , take it out of the oven while the ceremony is being performed?)

That would make a difference as to what cakes and frostings (fondant or whatever) would work out well.

The cake would be baked a day or two before to sure that we can decorate it.
