dreamer2009 I agree with you wholeheartedly!!

I did wonder if Jennifer Chiaverini herself prefers the historical characters and so wants to concentrate on those, essentially getting the modern day ones 'out of the way'.

this makes me sad...............have not read it, wanted to but cannot afford it right now.......Sylvia and Agnes are my favorites......some of the others remind me of annoying people in my life (LOL) OH, well, back to piecing.

I have almost quit reading series books 3 in a series is plenty I am reading the Christmas quilt now all it does is go way back before the first book and what is nore disgusting is to be out somewhere and need a book ---find a book store---pick up a book and start to read and find out it is number 3 or some nonsence I feel that a writer should be able to tell their story in one book or have on the front this is a series and books are so expensive I have about gave up on them just my feelings thanks for letting me vent on this

I say don't blame the author. Sometimes the publishers push their writers to produce I felt the same way about one of Jan Caron's books. It was a mishmash of chapters from her other books with not much plot. Perhaps JCH can get back on track with a new one. I agree that I don't like inaccuracies in stories that we know so well.

I finished the book too - I agree that it seemed rushed like it was a tie-up but I can see where it could continue with the son - I really liked the first books that went into the lives of the quilters and the history of Sylvia's family - this book though kind of fell flat - I am hoping that Elm Creek Quilts will continue but with a new set of characters - the new generation - we will wait and see.

I read it and was also confused by the 25 year jump- thought I missed something and at times it was like she was trying to figure out how things would be in the future- but then gave up and stuck with the 25 years in the future for the ages, but nothing else changed in those 25 years. I did read it all and agree there is one more book ( maybe) about the son , I never have been a fan of the historical books. I am glad though that I read the whole thing

No she writes then so that you can read them really in any order and still be able to follow the flow I just preferred to read them in order
