Once on ebay I sent a history book to someone and they emailed me saying they got a jar of cosmetics. I figured it was someone in the PO "inspecting" media mail packages and got them mixed up. I refunded his money (not a large amount) and wondered about the person who was expecting cosmetics and got a history book.

I just started selling on ebay. Recently widowed and trying to clean out years of collections. I'm really interested in advice and tips about selling. I've just listed my first stuff and will be learning about shipping next. I love to watch the bidding on my stuff. Keep the tips and pointers coming. Thanks.

It happened to me just once, I received the wrong item from the seller, she wasn't very nice about it, go figure, to say the least I didn't buy anything else from her.

They were probably mine  . I get shorted a bag almost every trip. It's a 50 mile RT to the store so it doesn't really pay to go back. I'm trying to watch the prices being scanned and load the bags in the cart at the same time. One time the checker rang up a .90 discount bakery item as 9.00. I always feel like I'm being rushed through and I'm just not as fast as I used to be.

Same thing happened to me except the seller wanted me to pay the shipping....mind you the book was a three dollar used book. I quite firmly told him he was dreaming and I wanted the book I ordered!

Well this is nothing quilting related but along the same lines!

In California my family and another family decided to raise our own ducks. You can order the ducklings through the mail at the beginning of the summer for about 1.00 a piece, we ordered 50. figured 25 for each family and a freezer full of prime meat!

3 WEEKS later we got another shipment of 50. when we called to find out what happened, they said they had no record of the first shipment and that our account had been marked as backorded!! We ended up with 100 ducks!

I sold some postcards to a gentleman in Hong Kong. When I quoted him the mailing cost (which I got from the post office) he said that was fine. When I mailed the cards I got a different teller at the window. Not only was the price $5.00 cheaper, but was shipping "faster" than the first quote. The gentleman in Hong Kong was surprised and quite happy when I E-mailed him and told him I was returning $5.00 U.S.A. dollars to his paypal account. I always thought that sometimes it depended on which clerk I got at to the difference in the shipping.

Any other weird ebay buys out there?
Years ago something similar happened to me. I shipped out a huge brass eagle that you hang over a garage door to the wrong person and I sent their package to the person who was to receive the other item. Well I contactd both and they were kind enough to ship the packages to each other and I offered to pay the postage. Worked out fine. Never did that again.

What is there to report. Op asked if it happened to us. Nothing in here of a rip off.

I've been on eBay since they opened there doors in sep 1995 and stuff happens, doesn't make it a seller bad.

Also Che ing fb does not make it ok even if a seller has great fb.

Don't understand your response...has nothing to do with question asked.
