I have dialup on the land line, and an antenna on the roof with a converter box to use my 1980s vintage tv. As long as I can get PBS, I'm happy as far as tv goes. When I've had cable, I spent all my time looking for something to watch. Now, it is easier and cheaper. I do keep a batch of old vhs movies to watch if the reception is bad.

It sure would be nice to see online video, though...

Bravo!! clap! clap!! clap!!
We have a TV--but I don't watch it at all. Life is too full!! Hubby watches less and less--and it's financial shows, classic movies, or nature shows for him, usually. I can't even stand to listen to it. We've never had cable and my kids were never allowed to have video games that play on the computer. My son watches TV--more in the winter. He and his girlfriend watch movies. My daughter, 19, watches no TV. No time!! :D :D

Whenever there's a storm, I unplug the sewing machine and computer, but leave the TV plugged in, always hoping it'll blow.

If husband is home - tv is on 24-7. I too like it. But, I seriously commend you for going tv no more cold turkey.

About the only thing I watch is Food Network and American Idol. TV is just not my thing.

Congrattsss you will never miss the TV. I havent had it same reason cost LOL
I have a bunch of dvds so when I just want to vegg I pop in one and most times I start to sew. David has a tv in the truck and he turns it on to drown out the other trucks. So he kinda goes into withdrawl when he comes here LOL But he said he has been turning on the radio more.

I have a few shows I watch. Mainly it's on for the noise or on if we aren't home to make it like someone is in the house. Due to flubbed breakins, having the tv on has helped a bit. But, I really don't watch it much.

I wish we were tvless! I can't hardly sit long enough to watch a show. It seems the TV is on for background noise and nothing else. My son would rather play with his friends than sit and stare at the tv most of the time. He's too active. DH loves the tv, he doesn't have a hobby, so the tv takes up his time, so sad. Congrats on becoming tvless!!!

Congrats on going tvless! I don't watch much, but DH could be attached to it..actually, I think he is! Its on 24/7 and drives me crazy! I tell him that when something happens to him, I'll have to have the remote surgically removed...or maybe I just won't  I go outside for the peace and quiet. I also wear headphones in the house sometimes...DH thinks I'm listening to something...I'm not..I just like the muffled sound, its quieter.

update! well we're several days in and so far so good. The kids are doing really good! Having a hard time getting the 13yo off the computer though. That is always an issue though. I bought some cheap movies at biglots yesterday and the kids and I sat down last night and watched one. It was fun. I had been reading a book and planned on sitting there with them reading but ended up watching. We seem to have lots more time in the day and everyone is ready to go to bed earlier. Dh gets up at 4:30 am so going to bed earlier is a good thing around here. They're also reading more and spending more time outside and being creative. I said something about getting a converter box and they asked why...said we were fine without it. We'll be at the beach this week with the inlaws though and there will be tv so I'm sure they'll be watching!
