Your avatar is the pic you have under your username. In your case it's a pic of you (I'm guessing) but some people like to put a favorite quilt in theirs. Hence their avatar quilt. My avatar is my Hello Kitty Janome Sew Mini. :mrgreen:

My avatar is a pic of my little Bitsy taken this past summer. She decided it was her job to inspect my latest fabric purchase -- that is until she got sleepy and decided fabric makes a pretty nice bed! :wink:
