Default Sent DH to grocery store......

and he left the grocery list in the car. He called me and asked what was on the list, he had remembered a few of the items. I have a bad cold and staying in the house otherwise I would never have asked him to do this. I reminded him about the Betty Crocker Oatmeal cookie mix and the frozen chicken breasts that I needed for my chicken soup. So then he calls me again and tells me he forgot some of the items again. So I reminded him of the Betty Crocker Oatmeal cookie mix and the frozen chicken breasts and he says OKAY, he will get it next. I think there was 9 items total on the list. He comes home and I am in my sewing room pinning fabric. I go into the kitchen and there are 2 packages of Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Muffin mix and a huge package of fresh chicken breasts about 2x the price of the frozen I asked for. I started laughing and asked where the Oatmeal cookie mix was. He was confused and looked at the package again and said if he kept doing this, then he was sure I would never ask him to buy groceries again. (Which would make him deliriously happy !) It sure is a good thing I love this man so much !!! It did give me a good laugh which right now, is good because my head is so congested and I feel rough. Do your husbands do this?

My husband does this all the time. But I just smile and tell him that's exactly what I wanted and then tell him I must run to town because I forgot to put something on the list and I really have to have it.

My DBF does this all the time and I'm sure he does it purposely to annoy me, lol! From the wrong toilet paper to the wrong chicken. But hey, if he's paying for it at a higher price than I do then all is good. I do point that out to him and he just shrugs his shoulders.

LOL!!! That is why my hubby gets to the store and calls me and I tell him 1 item at a time, wait for him to get it and then on to the next. My other option is to text him the list so he has it in his phone and can't "lose" it per say...

My DH goes to the store for me all the time. As long as I am very specifica about what I want, he usually does OK. It's when I am not, that there is a problem.

I have to tell DH the name brand , size, color and not to get anything else in it's place. One time I called the store and gave the clerk (a frind of mine) the order over the phone...she gave the list to one of the workers that stocks the shelves and they shopped for me. I had DH pick up the groceries...It was the only time he came home with all the right stuff! He was very happy!!!

LOL---I do the opposite! I send her out for store brands which I find just fine and she spends no telling how many more $$$ on the name brands!

Uh oh WannabeQuiltin.....we have the same virus going around. Brad did the shopping yesterday. He wants a detailed list and that's what I give him. If it's something that I'm not fussy about (name or generic butter) then he makes the choice based on price. He comes home with everything on the list and not one thing more so if I want munchies or junk food I'd better tell him or he won't bring any home. After 46 years we've got this down to a science.

I keep a running list on the fridge and he gets everything on the list and then goes "free styling" - you never know what he will come home with AND he always remembers the chocolate! He's a keeper!
