M meaning Menopause.

I know the symptoms. LOL But I would like to know what do you take that you find works?

Currently I take Bio Identical Hormones and am thinking of changing.

Thanks ladies for your comments.

Eat as little sugar as possible to avoid the sweating & take Primrose Oil.

In my early 40s I did have some vague symptoms of menopause.

In a visit to my doctor he found a cancerous lump in my boob, so told me to start taking Vitamin E, the real one without the L in it. He said to start with a bottle of very low Vitamin E and after that bottle was empty, get the next strongest, etc. I think the idea was that suddenly taking so much would raise my blood pressure.

But shortly after that I guess the Big M symptoms faded and it never was a bother. It was only some years later that my husband heard some of his friends complaining about their wives' problems and it reminded him that mine never did show up. Whether the E helped or not, whatever reason I wasn't bothered much at all.

(I looked up the spelling.... DL-alpha tocopherol is not the natural one) That L is the one that says Artificial..

And I was kind of a health food nut. Didn't realize how far we'd
gone till my 6 year old son was invited to his friend's home for dinner, and he came home excited about it. Said that after dinner they had a CAKE for desert, and it wasn't even anybody's birthday!!

I'm on the cusp, no symptoms except lack of regularity. I'm going to avoid HRT like the plague if I can, have heard too many nasty bad things about it, including the treatment of the horses for some of them.

Will try naturals though and thinking I might run out and get some E (without the L <g>) and nip it in the bud.

I'm already not a sugarholic, so quitting that is not a problem.

1.get a personal fan

2.keep the house at a temp that is miserable for everyone but you

3.ice cubes and neck coolers are your friends

4. if you sleep in a bed with someone..get separate blankets

5. have a "code word" to use with those around you, so they will stay clear of you on "those days"

Took a low dose of estregen prescribed by my doctor, sometimes changed nightgowns in the middle of the night, sometimes blessed out the family, put weight on around my middle, DIDN'T get cancer from the drug, didn't get wrinkles as long as I took the drug, didn't get depressed as long as I took the drug. Hated to give it up but got worried about taking it more than 20 years. When I quit taking it my face wrinkled, my weight bloomed and my spine curved!

That is really smart to stay away from sugar. I, too, took vitamin e and still do, though not as much as I used to. Get the one that says it is "mixed tocopherols". I take 10,000 iu's a day, used to take a lot more. Good idea to up it gradually until you feel better.

Hi, Surgical menopause 41 yrs ago and have been on Premarin since then. started with the highest dose ..currently on the lowest. I have tried to stop using the meds altogether but the nightsweats and mood swings are just too much for me at 71.
