I work at a gym, teaching 5 group exercise classes per week. I teach yoga, water aerobics, and senior fitness. Besides those I teach, I also take classes there from other instructors. I get in about 3-4 spin classes per week, 2 core classes, 2 yoga, and 1-2 weight lifting. Each is an hour, but once a month we have a 1.5 hour spin class on Saturday morning. Special holidays we might offer a 2 hour spin! I get plenty of exercise and never have a problem sleeping well at night. BTW, next birthday I will be 60.

I'm glad to see so many of our board members walk and keep fit. Walking (not strolling) is a great way to stay in shape. It keeps your muscles toned, your weight in check, and your stamina up. Good for you!

I ride an exercise bike 1/2 hour as soon as I get up and watch the weather channel. Then I walk 1 mile after breakfast and then after dinner around 700pm I walk another mile. I am 81 years old and have always done this years ago I did Debbie Reynolds and Paige Palmer exercises but now I just ride bike and walk.

I live in a one way in one way out circle drive and the walk to the end and back is 2 miles. I walk it early in the morning, about 5:30 am and then again in the evening. If I don't have my grands for the day I walk again before I take my afternoon nap. I won't go to bed until I have 10,000 or more steps unless I'm sick or just can't walk due to weather. I lost 30 lbs in three months when I upped my walk by 2 miles more each day. Walking is free and I need the sunshine. I park as far away as I can from any entrance, use stairs, and when I do laundry I fold and take one item at a time to it's proper place. Five folded towels is five trips from laundry room to bath room. My grands are little so we make a game of walking back and forth doing all kinds of things in the house.

I found the perfect pedometer:I like better then the bracelet ones and no computer or phone needed: Omron Alvita Ultimate Pedometer. It has never missed a step or miss counted movement for steps. Keeps a log of the weekly steps, calories, and miles walked. I can set a goal and it keeps track of that too. My Dr doesn't tell me to lose weight anymore, he tells me to not gain any.

I had my knee replaced 3 months ago. I just bought a new bike and love it. I have been trying to ride 20 miles or more 3x a week. I also try to get in some walking but I don''t really enjoy that as much. I also just got a bike rack to put on my car (yard sale $3 ) I live close to a bike path but there are many others around here. I recently added a little bit of weights. I have a fitbit zip and try to get 10,000 steps a day. I am going ot try a spinning class as I enjoy them also. I work at a school and have to go back to work August 24th. I will have to adjust my exercise then. I could ride my bike to school as it is about 8 or 10 miles but there isn't a shower and there are a couple of big hills. Since my knee replacement I am still not too good with hills.

I go to our hospital's Wellness Center seven days a week. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I go to an hour's fitness class for seniors (I'm 79). On Tuesday and Thursday, I take Tai Chi. On the weekends, I exercise for an hour on machines in the gym. I have my sewing room set up so that I have to walk to get to things so that I get some exercise when quilting.

I really like bike riding. It's so much fun. I bought a regular pedal bike, no gears, like the one I had as a child. The new adult women's bikes are very pretty! I wish I lived in a town where I could bike to shop and do other errands and not worry about theft of the bike!

Oh how I envy all you walkers. I'm at the point where I walk from the bedroom to the dining room where I sit and read after breakfast. When I start to feel human, I walk to my computer, then to my sewing room or back to the dining room to read some more. I have so much back and right hip pain I seldom walk very far. I am having problems now with sewing and quilting. I can't use the foot pedal to run my machine for long because my hip will hurt for days if I am not careful. I don't sleep well due to the hip pain anyway so I try not to aggravate it too much. I've always heard getting old is not for sissies.....too true!!! So to all you active members...I am truly happy for all of you. Keep up the good work!!!

I go to the gym 5 days a week. I start with cardio. Treadmill at a speed of 3.2 and incline of 10. Then I i lift the bar for three sets of 10 (45 lps). Then I do five other machines as per my trainer. When I get done, I do yoga for 20 minutes so I guess I am at the gym from 1.30 to 2 hours. I have been doing this for almost three years. I have just started with the trainer since March and there is a huge difference in my strength etc. I no longer have sciatica, or pain in my knees. I know this takes a huge chunk out of my day, considering the amount of sewing and painting and other stuff that I do....but I do it because It makes me able to do all the things I love. I call it an investment in myself.

Three years ago I started in at 163 pounds and I am now at 145 and I am so happy. I lost it slowly and it's staying off, of course I cheat but I get right back on, not a diet but just not eating sweets stuff. I have at least 12 - 15 more pounds to go, I am 5 ft tall and I don't want to be skinny and I am 74 years old.

I am walking about 4 miles a day now, and need to quit for a while because the Dr wants me to try to put some weight on. I'll tell you true, it is harder to put it on than it ever was to take it off.
