Where about in Australia is Penrith? I'm just back from Western Australia and found the climate awesome compared to here in north east Scotland. I arrived in 39C which took a wee bit of getting used to but now the temps are down to 20s/30s. My eldest daughter lives there. She said winter is like our summer lol except sometimes not so cold but last winter it was particularly wet. My youngest spent her summer holidays there and was mortified that she missed our very unusually fabulous summer. My understanding is that the climate in Oz is so diverse from tropical to just like UK climate it really will depend on where Penrith is. Good luck to your son.

Penrith is in New South Wales in Australia . He is located about 15 miles away at the world championships at the end of April. Training the first weeks and races near the end.
At least it won't be too hot.

Penrith is just outside of Sydney, if you look up the weather for Sydney you will get a good idea. It should still be nice weather at the end of April, it doesn't get as cold as it does where I am down south

Just google up Penrith NSW and it will give you all the info that he needs to know.

Woody I was in Canberra over the weekend and we left beautiful weather on Sunday to arrive back in Sydney to some of the heaviest rain that we have had in a while.

My daughter lives in Penrith, it is a lovely place, within very easy reach of the Blue Mountains, which are stunning, the weather at the moment has been very wet with huge thunder storms, but still very warm. Penrith itself is a good size town with lots going on. He should love it there - I have to wait till December!!!

We are having lots of rain here too, and more to come. But after the very hot dry summer it great to see everything green again.

Penrith is usually just one or two degrees hotter than the average Sydney temperature. It is at the foot of the Blue Mountains and not far from Warragamba Dam which are good tourist areas. It is a big city and there are plenty of night spots for young people. Our cities are physically similar to yours. I went to school in Penrith and still enjoy the odd shopping trip back to the area. There is a direct train service from the City Centre out to Penrith. The time and cost of the journey depends on the type of train chosen. However, the fares are much more friendly than U.S.A. prices. If he jumps onto a Blue Mountains train it has fewer suburban stops before arriving at Penrith. However, I think half the fun is finding all of these things for himself. He should enjoy.

Hi there I live in Penrith Australia. Penrith is about a 45 min drive from Sydney, it is a beautiful Western suburb on the banks of the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Miuntains. You son will be canoeing at the Olymic Course which is a wonderful facility. You don't say when you son is coming so can't comment on weather. If you send me a pm with any questions, I will try to answer them and if you like could send you some information on Penrith. Also Penrith is on the East coast of Australia inNew South Wales. We are coming into winter now and temperatures on a lovely day are about 25 centigrade, but the nights for us can get cold, maybe about 10 To 15.
