glad I keep my clothes around for a while. How about those jeans that they sell that have holes already in them? Like I would pay for holely jeans. People must have more money than brains!!

AMEN How in the world would someone want to purchase worn out clothing and the prices they want you to pay for those things.

Also I found some denim skirts and jeans, and they looked as if they were dirty---come to find out---it was made that way---told them to keep them, I like my clothing clean looking--especially when I am just getting it from the store.

Sibyl---who must be a fuddy dutty

YES AND THEY ARE VERY VERY HOT TO HAVE TO WORK OUT SIDE IN THEM.IT SEEMS LIKE THEY JUST MELT TO YOUR SKIN,NOT A GOOD FEELING EITHER

One of biggest pet peeves lately has been that it is impossible to find 100% cotton jeans...they all have lycra or spandex in them...I just hate the way they look on me, plus they stretch out after a couple of hours and I find myself pulling them up all day...I was seriously thinking of buying demim and making my own...or good will...they just aren't in the stores anymore.

I read labels carefully. No poly for me, its just too hot. Thrift store shopping is good yet. I make my dresses but since I like 100% cotton its getting expensive. I wear them until they literally fall apart. ( had one one the other day, scratched an itch on my chest and the fabric spilt got my dollars out of that.lol)
I picked up some linen pants, tie waist, in Target on sale last month for $12 each .
I am so glad I do NOT have to buy clothes for kids anymore.

Not only are they trying to keep profits up, but they are dealing with a drop in the supply of cotton.

I am so glad I don't have to do the back to school thing. I think this is nothing but greed because you know once these products fall apart they will have to be replaced I guess it will create jobs across the ocean-I don't buy ANYTHING that does not say Made in America (even in 2nd hand stores) or grown in America.

We wound up in Sears and my son got a pair of carpenter pants in the work clothes area. They were $40 but at least they won't fall apart. My hard-to-fit daughter wound up with spandex leggings that were $20 a pair.
I just bought my sons clothes today. Jeans 100% cotton (Faded Glory brand so I know they will hold up) for $10. 100% cotton tshirts for between $3-6 each. You can still find inexpensive clothes that will last if you hunt around. We went to Walmart.
I know a lot of people like this store (Walmart) but I think they simply make the problem of cost/quality worse. Someone please check to see from where they obtain their goods for sale. I would bet it is not USA made! Rather, sweat shops in China, Mexico, Thailand, etc. Corporations like this perpetuate the difficulty for all of us. Does someone have any factual information? I would be very interested.

I'm not surprised... corporations are squeezing everything out of us that they can... I am going to look into "scrubs"... I dont particularly care about being stylish and it may look like I just got off work... LOL... and best of all they look sooooo comfortable and have adjustable tie waists.

The scrubs I have do not have the tie waists but elastic. I love them though and have several pair. Since mine are a poly blend they require little or no ironing, which I totally hate. The 1 thing I really dislike about quilting is the pressing, but that is a necessity. Guess this all stems from ironing all of those shirts for DH and 5 boys.
