I have seen Elton John, before he was big in 1970 at the University of Northern Iowa for $3. Have seen James Taylor 7 times, Bob Seger, Alabama (10), Chicago is my all time favorite group, have seen them 42 times in my life. I love, love, love that group. Love Leon Russell. 2 weeks ago, he was on SNL with Elton John for a rare concert with pianos placed in opposite directions. Loved it. We used to go to Tulsa just to drive by his house so we could see him driving in his white Excalibur. Life without music is like sewing without fabric

In-a-Gadda-da-vida by Iron Butterfly. Don't ask. We were married at midnight on 12/31/1999 in a beautiful backyard at a Y2K party. My boss married us. It really was beautiful.

We were married outside in front of a lake, so no music.

He asked me to marry him on our 2nd date. We knew each other less than 1 week. May 17th we will celebrate 30 wonderful years together. And to think some people said it would not last because we did not know each other well enough.

I knew that I liked you for a reason!! The Boss gives the BEST CONCERTS!!

The first time it was the traditional wedding march, the second time Ode to Joy.

1st ex - Walked in to "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Foreigner. Walked out to "Sea of Love" by The Honeydrippers

2nd ex - Walked in to a phenomenal pianist playing the traditional wedding march. Song sung by soloist during ceremony "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams

DH (3rd times a charm :)) No music at all. Just stood under the big mulberry tree in Mom's backyard with the minister & only immediate family gathered around us.

I walked down the aisle to "Ode to Joy"...and ...while we were at the alter we had the "Wedding Song" by Paul Stookey, sung by the church Cantor. It was really beautiful. Love the lyrics to that song.

We were lucky to get that as our church was a very conservative Roman Catholic church and you couldn't have any "modern" music.

That was 23 years ago.

My late DH and I were married in our beloved Yosemite Valley in the Little Brown Church. His talented early teen daughter played the traditional wedding march, and outside we could see a big buck deer grazing on the fresh grass under an old apple tree.

The couple who stood up for us were from the AF Base near town, he was a B52 navigator, (bragged he could take that plane and set it down within 20 feet of any place on earth) and they were late for the wedding. He was driving and got lost in the valley of Yosemite!!! When they drove up he wasn't a happy camper and his wife was convulsed with laughter. She giggled and snickered all through the service!! It was a happy time, marriage lasted 39 1/2 years.

I was too impatient while waiting for God to send Kevin to me, so I ran away and got married three times before I learned my lesson. When I finally met Kevin, I knew he was the one and my oldest daughter sang "Bless the Broken Road" and my GrandPa walked me down the aisle. This was my only church wedding and it has been the best marriage ever .... God really does know who and what's best for me (I'm hardheaded can ya tell?).

The Yosemite Valley church is so quaint & beautiful. Cute story about your friend. I'm glad you had the 39 1/2 years with your DH.
