I'm in a new book club at the local library. They are commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and we are reading a different novel about that era each month for four months. I've already read 2 of the 4 books but ah well, I'll re-read them.

February's book is new, Song yet Sung by James McBride. It's wonderful. His writing is like music. I'd recommend this one and also his other book, The Color of Water. Fascinating!

I am reading "Gumbo Limbo" by Tom Corcoran. Set in Key West....lots of action.

My next book will be "A Dog's Purpose" by W.Bruce Cameron. My girls got it for me for my birthday.

Don't you just love her books for fun reading?
I read every night before turning out the light to go to sleep, I LAUGH OUT LOUD in parts of every single one of her books...my husband thinks I'm crazy, but when I read him the part I laugh at, he chuckles too! My mother is also reading all of this series, but waits for them to come out in paperback so she can get them at the used book store and keep them....Didn't know about the movie tho....will have to check it out !!!! Wonder who will play Stephanie...I think Betty White would be awesome as Grandma Mazur!

For all Stephanie Plum lovers----did you know there will be a movie in the summer? Number one. You can search on line to read about the cast and all. DD insists I have to visit her to go see it with her!
Thanks for the info. mommafank! Just checked it out online...I'm a little disappointed in their choice of Debbie Reynolds to play Grandma Mazur, but who knows maybe she'll do well...every time I've read one of the Plum novels, I always think of Estelle Geddy being a great Grandma Mazur...too bad she's gone now

I'm reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. A non-fiction story about POWs in WWII. Your DH would be interested. Excellent account of the trials and successes of our servicemen.

Just finished listening to Unbroken with my DH. It was incredible. It is hard to believe that our soldiers endured that. Finished "The Girl that kicked the Hornets Nest" last night. Started "Thresds West" after that. I really enjoyed "THe Help", too.

If you like Nevada Barr, you might like Dana Stabenow.
