I am thankful for everything even the things that were not what I desired but helped to make me stronger and wiser.

I am thankful for my 50+ years with my husband, our son who married a wonderful girl and gave us three wonderful grandchildren. I am thankful for our oncologist and infusion nurses who helped my husband through six months of chemo and is cancer free five years with one cancer and 25 with the other. I am thankful for my sisters, my Mother (94), my friends and Furbaby Bess, who were there for me when my husband/we went through the cancer in 2005. I am thankful for my friends and neighbors. I am thankful that I live in the United States of America, Land of the Free - Home of the Brave. I am thankful for my religion, Lutheran, that has kept me on the straight and narrow, that has made sure that I was never alone and that prayers are always answered - Yes or No - and there is definitely a reason for the No. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior, who without Him, I never would have felt love, satisfaction, closeness, warmth, and the wisdom to know the difference between Him and the Devil. I am thankful that I can quilt. With my husband having cancer, I could always hand sew when he was having chemo, when he was taking a nap and now just to keep myself active. The kids are coming for Thanksgiving Dinner and that is probably right now what I am most thankful for! God bless us everyone and don't forget to say thank you. We pray for this and we pray for that and how many of us say thank you. I remember when Rog would get a good report from the oncologist and coming out of his office and into the elevator, I took those few minutes to say thank you. And I meant every word of it, I still mean every word of it - THANK YOU! Edie

I want to thank God for all of my blessings. I asked for and was sent so many things. I am thankful for my DH. He is my best friend. He puts up with me and all of my messes, he doesn't get angry if I decide I don't want to cook, he just finds something to eat. I love him more now than I did when we married 26 years ago. I'm thankful for all of my children. They are mostly grown up and they are a good group of kids. They all did, or do well in school, they are hard workers, they are loving, kind, compassionate, and generous. They behave when they are not with me. I know because their friends parents tell me how well behaved they are. They make me so proud. I'm thankful we have a house to live in and the money to add the large addition we needed.(2 stories,4 rooms). I'm thankful we have a ton of laughter in our house. The kids mostly get along. I'm grateful we can do for them when they want something. Son #2 is going to go to Disney World with the marching band the day after Christmas. I'm thankful I have an outlet for my creativity. It's also a great stress reliever. Of course I'm talking about quilting. Quilting has also brought my sister and me closer. I guess I could keep going, there is so much to be thankful for, unfortunately, there isn't enough room here to list all of them.

I'm thankful to God who everyday loves us unconditionally even though we mess up, continues to watch over us, and guide us. Without Him in our lives, I don't know where we'd be. I'm also thankful for my family who I love so very much and for my friends who are so very precious to me. Everything else is just gravy!!

I also am thankful for my salvation. God allowed me to have a wonderful daughter and and son-in-law and 2 precious grand children. He also appointed me a task of adopting 6 other children and I am down to the last one to get out of school in one more semester. The person I am today is the sum total of all of my past experiences, both good and bad, and I am happy with what I have been given. I do appreciate this board. I have learned so much in the short time I have been participating. I have also spent a lot of money that I am thankful I had (or did not have) ha ha. I appreciate all of you each and every day.
