My favorite part of Thanksgiving, is hanging out with my cousins. Especially after Thanksgiving is over heating up the rest of the leftovers the rest of the week and laying around! :D :D

We used to go to a Christmas Parade on Saturday evening when my kids were young...it would get chilly and we always stopped at the same restaurant for hot chocolate and the salad plate sized cinnamon rolls dripping with icing LMBO I had forgot about that until you mentioned going into SanFrancisco, Esqmommy.....

Friday we are decorating the office- I'm borrowing my niece and the children of my employees are coming. We are making gingerbread houses and decorating.

I'm bringing stuff from home to decorate. My house is too far from the road to see so I'm bringing it here so everyone can see.

I'm excited- my kids and I always decorated the day after Thanksgiving but they are basically gone so I almost have to rent kids (so I bribed them with a pizza lunch too, OK). I always did crafts with my kids so making these houses will be blast. And no kits- I'm baking the gingerbread slabs tomorrow night.

Sat. is a fund raiser for Youth Group so I need to make some stuff for their bake sale. Then just relax for the rest of the week end. I'm sure I'll quilt some along the way.

Jim does all the work. He actually looks forward to it. Every year he tells me "You watch the parade and I'll do it all". But the best part is that he makes the most wonderful stuffing in the WORLD.

When I was a kid I remember my mother making the pies from scratch. I remember the anticipation, and smelling the bird cooking for hours. We even have special plates and a platter with a turkey in a barnyard scene on them. We don't the big groups anymore. It is just Jim and me, but I love it just the same. AND I am proud to say that it all started in Massachusetts.

This year is something different....We are taking the family out to dinner.....
BUT.........I went and bought a turkey breast, stuffing and cranberry sauce......

What would Friday be without the turkey, stuffing & cranberry sandwich?

A bit of shopping will take a few hours of the weekend along with having granddaughter spending the entire weekend with us..that's the pleasure of it all.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.......and oh yes, be sure to get a little quilting in while relaxing.

This year is a little different for us. DH's mom is in a nursing home & we had a big dinner there with her for her birthday last week. Older DD isn't coming home (Philadelphia shcools are in session Weds.). DH, younger DD & I will be going to my mother's. Mom doesn't like "traditional." We are having roast pork. So I'll have to get a small turkey, or turkey breast for us to have another day.

We often decorate for Christmas the day afer Thanksgiving, but not this year! I'm going to do Bonnie Hunt's (quiltville.com) Friday! And Saturday, our guild has a "sew-in" day. So lots of sewing this year. Except for an annual retreat, I don't know when I've ever spent that much time sewing!

Monday when they go back to school and work.. ok ok.. it means CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS can legally go up in my house. I would get shot if I tried it one day earlier. But Friday.. its Fair game!

I love decorating the house for Christmas. My kids are just getting old enough to help/get excited for Christmas so it will be lots of fun this year. We put the tree up Friday night after they go to bed and then decorate on Saturday.
