I'm not taking it personally, I don't think it's directed at me at all. I'm just saying that I'm an adult and as long as I'm interested in what's being posted and it's not Religious, Political, Porn or Swearing then it should be left alone.

BTW, Thank you for caring enough to answer. I'm not mad at the people on the board, just upset that this keeps happening. The general people on this board have become like a second family---I don't always agree with them but I still love 'em. But for the record, I wouldn't let my family do something like this either without making my opinion known.

I'm going to sign off here now and go garage saleing. Maybe find some bargains to put me in a better mood. Love to haggle over pricing---talked a lady down to only $20 Thursday night for an 18" flat screen monitor that works like new. Just thinking about it lifts my spirits.

what thread in particular are you speaking of? it's easier to figure out what happened with some details.

sometimes it's best to move forward instead of rehashing old wounds

I've also notice a lot of posts being deleted here too. No other forum that I belong to does this....

I have never locked a thread so I can't speak for others, but in general if a thread goes off track , for example, it starts out with one purpose and then goes in a complete different direction, it might get locked. If the thread has a "tone" to it that has no purpose but to upset others members , it might get locked.

If you have a thread that gets locked or deleted please feel free to contact Admin or Patrice for an explanation .

I agree, I don't like people making decisions for me. If there is a thread that I don't like, I simply don't read it. But I detest people who do things supposedly for my good. I'll make my own judgement calls, thank you.

I read a couple of other forums where posts and whole topics are deleted for various reasons. I have also been on unmoderated forums and they tend to have regular and sometimes continuing blow ups.

When the moderators decide to delete a thread on the board, it's not for YOUR good, it's for the good of the group, or if you like, the good of the Board. The Board would not be able to continue if flaming and hate became the norm. The group would disintegrate if people's feelings were continually being hurt.

I've had some of my posts and threads deleted in the past, not because I was saying anything wrong, but because others took things in a bad direction. Sometimes nothing was wrong, but the topic was deemed to have the potential for becoming too hot to handle. (Health insurance is one example of such a thread topic.)

I'm not happy when I see something of mine deleted, or even someone else's thread that I was following with interest, but them's the rules.

I suppose anyone could start another quilter's forum elsewhere on the web and make their own rules, if they can't live with these.
