Default Will and Grace TV (rebooted) show

The actors have hardly aged at all.

The only one that seems to have changed a bit is Debra Messing who seems to have thickened up a little (Bless Her ! (That' s Northern "Bless Her"! ))

But so far, I am having a dickens of a time trying to understand what the Karen character is saying -
as I've said elsewhere, I can understand the news reports and most commercials perfectly well - and some of the old TV shows - but I am "losing" a lot of some of the shows now so they are not so much to fun to watch.

Plus DH and DS like to comment almost constantly about shows they are not fond of. A Southern "Bless Their Hearts" on them while doing that!

My DD is hard of hearing, so when she was visiting we turned on the captions on the TV, turned them off when she left. Later I turned them back on and now I leave them on. They do get in the way occasionally, but they make it so much easier to "hear" what's on TV. I really don't think it's my hearing, but that the actors mumble half their lines. The problem with the captions is that I find myself reading, rather than watching the action, even though I can hear and understand what's said 95% of the time. One advantage is that the lyrics to songs are also displayed. I never could catch the lyrics before, and sometimes they are actually quite good.

I didn't care for the initial re-boot episode of Will & Grace. Too much politics and not very funny. And I don't understand why those people haven't aged! I hope the series improves.

The first episode did have politics involved but the second one didn't. I do have hearing issues and wear hearing aids but still have trouble with some women's voices. My hearing aids are newish and have been matched to my hearing loss and I get them checked and reprogrammed as necessary. But I still have some trouble sometimes. I was told by an audiologist and several hearing aid techs that while my hearing will be improved it won't be normal. So I leave the captions on all the time. And Megan Mullaley who plays Karen talks in that phony voice

you should get used to captions. i don't have them on my t.v. but love movies with English on the bottom of the screen, never seem to bother me.

I always have CC on because I am almost completely deaf. The loss is caused by auditory nerve damage and hearing aids are no help. They increase volume but do nothing to aid my understanding of what I hear.

I don't watch Will and Grace but my DH says that the guy that plays Sherlock on Elementary is difficult to understand. His name escapes me now....jonny ??? I like that show.

I used to love that show, but I haven't watched the new ones. I thought it was weird that they were married and had kids when the old one ended, and it didn't look like they carried on from the old one. I do love Jack though. He is so funny.

I think they are writing the new show like the old ending never happened.

I like Sherlock too, but his accent, his rapid speech, and his very soft monotone voice make it impossible for me to understand him without captions.

I leave closed captioning on all the time and, yes, I find I read most of the words instead of listening. It's just easier, I guess, with having even minimal hearing loss. I have a grandchild who is struggling a bit with reading in school. They teach so much of the word recognition now. He's got the phonics part but not moving on real well. I encouraged his family to leave closed captioning on for him as he can follow along with that and gives some "extra practice". Kind of like being read to?? (He does not have hearing loss--it's for reading skills.)

its not just you, I loved that show when it was on before, watched it the other night , not a fan anymore. seems like something was missing or just not connecting in the show.
