I think we all have that addiction. It's fun to go through your fabric. I'm always finding fabrics I didn't even know I had.

I was just talking about this very issue with my best friend. I have different fabrics & when I am looking or touching, I need to take it to the LQS & get fabrics that will match it. Of course I have no idea of what I am going to make but at least I have the matching fabric!!

I'm always looking at my fabric, trying to figure out what I might want to do with it, maybe I should sort it again so I can get more like colors together, maybe I should get rid of some of it because I don't like it anymore, and the thought processing and fondling goes on and on.

We have a lesson on touching fabric in my sewing class, I have samples so they can feel the difference in weaves and textures, etc. I guess I'm also preparing them to be the future fabric touchy feely adults of tomorrow.

I wonder if the addiction is sex related as in limited to women? Are there any gentlemen quilters here who have the same problem? I tried to explain the phenomenon to my late husband and he just shook his head. Of course, he had a gun safe full of shot guns most of which he bought because they were beautiful or some how or other more useful than the others. You can only shoot a pheasant with one gun as far as I'm concerned. We decided to be tolerant of each other's madness.
