It will be fine. Just serve it. Also you could BING Gluten Free and see if you can find an answer to that problem

BTW, your pie looks wonderful. We celiacs know things may look a little different and appreciate your efforts.

I did put xanthan gum in it. I used rice, tapioca and corn starch. The crust itself I think is alright I was just so disappointed that it bubbled over like that. I kept watching it and kept watching it. I checked it one last time and said it needs maybe 5 mins went back in 3 and it looked like that lol. If the crust had browned like the regular pie I might have been able to catch it but it didnt. Ohh well I am sure it is still good.
And thanks I am trying. I have made the best cookies my husband has ever had (so he says lol) and I found some pretty good doughnuts and he likes the bisquick pancakes
I do not know anything about gluten free cooking so I am not sure if you can do this for it or not so please keep that in mind .Have you tried to use tapioca in your pie filling instead of the flour to thicken it?I would also do an egg wash to get the crust to brown it up or you could try just basting the crust with milk.Would love to know whether this is an option with the tapioca for gluten free diets so I don't look foolish again.

As long as it taste good who cares. Bet they gobble them up. Not everybody can make pies. I can make a multi tier wedding cake but hate to make pie crust because it doesn't always turn out perfect.

I am gluten free, and have lots of problems with things like this! Some of the products are really wierd!

Now all pies are like apple crisps, with butter, oatmeal, brown sugar in equal amounts for the topping, and corn starch and a bit of sugar if you want it, mixed with the juice for thickening.

This sounds like a strange recipe, but it really works!

PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
Mix 1 cup of peanut butter with at least a half cup of sugar, up to a whole cup. Add an egg and mix well.
Drop teaspoons of the batter on a cookie sheet and bake at 350* for about 20 min, until they are done!
Amazingly they look and taste like regular cookies!

Heck my pie always does that and it's with flour. to many berries? maybe a liitle dip in that area. They taste just as good.Gives it a little color.

Pie is pie, its the taste not the looks, and I will bet it tastes really good. Keep trying. Every thing different takes time. DEB

Here are the results. Both homemade crust both the same berry recipe. And look!! UGGHHH I give up lol

I was such a good cook and baker before gluten free. Now I feel like a 5 year old in the kitchen. Everything I thought I knew is now different. LOL one day I will get it. The worst part about it all is I agreed to go on the diet for moral support (and its easier to have a dedicated gluten free house) but I so want a bite of the regular pie lol
Second pie might be good, sprinkled with sugar before baking, cut smaller, and having, vanilla yogurt, ice cream, sweet cream, or?, over it. Mmmmmmm. Gluten free is just a little different. You can make it work.

It is pretty natural that fruit pies will boil overwe use to get a small tool you put in the pie so it wouldn't do that. I don't remember what they called it/
