I ♥love♥ ♥love♥ ♥love♥ WIN10! <3
It is only a 3gb software update, and afterwards your computer works almost like an Apple iPad. For me, the only difference is that my pc runs a lot faster ...and programs are now called apps.
Sure, I had to adjust to certain changes, but once I got over my apprehension, it was all so easy!!!
ALL my quilting, embroidery and book-keeping software is functioning as before....well, maybe even a bit better, because the computer is faster.
For safety sake, I first saved all my files, etc. on an external hard-drive, but it was not even necessary.
I don't miss the old Windows 7 or 8 .....this one "feels" lighter and easier to use.
HTH

ETA: Win10 is free until (? July) 2016. After that, you have to buy the program.
BUT.....ALL updates are free of charge. Just like Apple.

I upgraded to Windows 10 during the free time. I have had no problems. I have a son who is a software engineer and he checked out drivers, internet compatibility, etc. after I did the installation. He generally keeps me out of snafu problems I could create on my own. I like the new program. My husband had XP but was starting to have major issues. A new computer and new programs were in order. It is hard to keep up with the technology for sure-but I try.

Upgraded about 3 weeks ago and not noticing any problems. I like it sooooo much better than 8 (what were they thinking with version 8?) The upgrade itself went very smoothly also.

I love the 10 and have not had to pay for ANYTHING - otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. I just write letters, tend to my bills and my quilt stuff, nothing really important, so I don't worry about it. I just llike to keep my computer as "clean" as possible. Edie

Has anybody who uses 6D Embroidery Software upgraded to Windows 10? Do they work together?

If I can do it, anybody can! My son actually did the install and got me going, my 8 yr old grand daughter helps when I'm stuck. Both of them tell me "Don't be afraid Gran, Just click a button!" My computer runs much faster. To me, its a black box with buttons to push! I have help if I need it, and it does everything its always done, so I say give it a try!

I upgraded on 3 of our computers (we have 4 but I use one for work) and no problems so far. We have been running W10 for about 2 months or so now. I love it personally. But I understand different people like different things. No fees that I am aware of either. Hope this helps.

I have windows 8, and vista. I upgraded my windows 7 and had problems. l also have a new laptop windows 10. I had to re-load some software that didn't integrate properly. If you have a lot of programs on your PC, you might wait a bit longer until more bugs are fixed. BTW some of thee are my DH's.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Make sure you have virus protection and your PC should be good for longtime. I still use an old windows XP for the photoshop which I can't move to the new one.

Mm

I downloaded it and it worked for about 1 week and then all kinds of strange things began to happen. Since I was still within the trial period I was able to switch back to Win 7. I dread having to update to 10 until all the bugs are worked out.

I was having all kinds of little issues with the laptop, so the IT shop replaced the hard drive, and at the same time, upgraded to Windows 10. The hard drive made it operate so much faster, and I no longer have the issues with different websites, maybe because Windows 10 comes with a new browser, Edge.
