To me, Vista was a nightmare and Windows 7 isn't very stable. So far, I have found that Windows 8 is stable and very fast. But, it does take a few min. to get used to. I really like XP, but it was slow compared to windows 8. I think once people figure out how to use it, they will like it. Anything new takes time to learn.

Thank goodness I bought my laptop last year and have Windows 7. It has been great.I haven't had any problems with stability. What are they? I avoided downloading fix-its early in 7's life-cycle at the recommendation of a techie friend - he had lots of trouble with them. I wonder if that is what caused stability problems?
The only reason I have a PC instead of a Mac is my Pfaff won't interface with a Mac. None of these problems with Apple. And no firewall is necessary. I hate Microsoft! There are always a lot of bugs whenever they introduce a new product or system. I don't understand why they can't get the bugs out when they beta test.
I have heard so many complaints about 8 that I'm really glad I have my year-old baby!

Our old computer died and we just got a new one with Windows 8 in it and it sucks royally. Guess when you get used to one system and they bring out a new one there should be a step by step in depth guide!! LOL

There is comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one who is lost. I am also making the transition from XP to 8. After the past two days, I've come to the conclusion that 8 was designed by a bunch of monkeys on crack. That's the only explanation I can find for making me click two or three things that once only took one click. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread also.

I just got a new computer right after Thanksgiving and it came with Windows 8. I am not a fan. Having had a lot of time to play with it, trying to get ready for Christmas. Santa brought me a Windows 8 for Dummies book so hope that will help. Good luck to all you other users out there.

OK QKO.... I like to play games on MSN.... I need Active X... How the heck can I download it?
Also sometimes, I am looking at something, my hands no where near the keyboard and the screen goes back to the tiles....
One more thing.... you said the start button is in the lower left corner.... all I see is an image of the tiles not my old friend "Start".... I want to cry....help, Help, HELP....
