Hello all,
I am a beginner from NC. I can thread a needle. I have a sewing machine. I want to quilt. I just need to know where to start!

Welcome from southeast PA!

I would recommend getting one of the Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day books as there are lots of pictures & she covers everything from cutting the fabric to binding the quilt. You can use a coupon at Joanns's when they have a 50% off one.

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here. I started with a how to book. Try that but ask questions here if you want. We love to help.

Welcome from Ohio! I'm a beginner, too. I took some intro classes at a local quilt shop. I also got a beginning quilting book off ebay. Good luck and enjoy!

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

With all of this enthusiasm, you are half way there!
A begginer's quilt book, check out Youtube for videos explaining sewing 1/4" seams and rotary cutting, purchasing a cutting mat, rotary cutter and a ruler would all be a great start.

Hello & welcome from Michigan! I would start at your local quilt shop, and take a class or two. Have fun, it is very addictive!

welcome from South Carolina! I wish we had a quilt shop that offered quilt classes, but we don't. We do have a Hancock Fabrics that has them ~ I haven't taken one yet. If you have never sewn.. I would recommend practicing straight stitches, cut long strips x 2 and keep sewing rows and rows. And as the other gals have said, watch you tube, get a cutting mat and rotary cutter, and flat head pins. You can probably do a internet search for free easy beginner quilt patterns.

good luck & welcome :) the only quilt I've made was actually a little wall hanging that I didn't bind. I put it in a frame
