Smile Hia

Hello everyone, I'm Sheila, i live in Aberdeen Scotland and have recently discovered a passion for quilting. I haven't done any sewing in the past having been too busy with work and children. I started making quilts in April this year after buying a Janome 607txl. It was complicated enough for a complete novice. Last month I upgraded to a sapphire 875 which I love - sometimes just to pat but only when the dog isn't looking in case he gets jealous lol! To date I've made nine quilts all trial and error with the help of utube and what advice I can get from others. I've been looking around this quilting board for a while since US definitely seems to be the home of amazing quilters. I like to try all sorts of things but most of all I just like going wherever my imagination takes me. I like to think my work is improving with each quilt but I best banish that thought in case I jinx myself.

Hi Sheilz and welcome aboard from Quebec city, Canada
You've done nine quilts already WOW. I started quilting in 2006 and I am working on my third quilt only and I am having fun with my new learning process. We visited Scotland in 2010 for 3 weeks. Nice country you live in!

Hello and welcome Sheila. We were in Aberdeen a few years ago on vacation. What a wonderful country you live in. Hope to someday return for another visit. Sounds like you've really got the quilting bug. You'll find a lot of help and useful information on this forum.

Thank you all very much for the friendly welcome. I will put up some pics of my quilts when I figure out how to do it! I've never been stateside despite my eldest sis living and married to a Texan. One day perhaps! Scotland - it fits the old adage of good things in little parcels

Oops I thought these were small thumbnails! The bottom was my first effort from a jelly roll. All but the baby one are full size. Am working on another at moment. These have all been gifts. Got pics of the missing two. One flying geese all of whom unfortunately were headless by the time I finished with them lol! The other is a baby quilt. I started putting pockets on the baby quilts - the stripy band on the baby one is four pockets which. Thought might be useful for favourite teddies.
