I am a long-time quilter from Iowa. Last spring I retired after 40 years in the teaching profession. The last 16 years were in special education. I am married to a wonderful man who is also retired. He had a stroke almost 4 years ago so has limited speech, but can still get around and we do a lot of odd jobs in the process of cleaning up our new acreage. We raised two boys and they have blessed us with 3 grandchildren and a soon to be step granddaughter. In the summer Hubby and I garden and do a lot of deck sitting. My favorite quilts are the ones I made for family members and dear friends. I love to hand quilt, but will soon give it up as my hands don't work like they used to. We have a mineature Shit Tzu. She will be a year old in early March. Lily has become a very impostant of our lives. My all your fabric be pretty and your stitches sstraight

Welcome from Southern California. I was born in Des Moines, but the family moved when I was only 2 so don't remember much of it. Glad you have joined us. You will learn a lot and be inspired to do more. Just remember - we like pictures!

I'll post some pics as soon as I figure out how, but I need to get back to my quilting now as I have to have a gift ready for Saturday.
