Hi from Ohio
Hi! I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Leslie and live in central Ohio. I started quilting about 20 years ago. Then about 10 years ago I stepped out of quilting for a while to do scrapbooking while my son was young - seemed more important at that point to capture the pictures and stories behind them and I was struggling to keep up with quilting, scrapbooking, being a mom, and working full time. I always knew I would return to quilting some day, even though my hubby was sure all that "quilt stuff" was just taking up space.
About a year ago I had an opportunity to go to a small weekend quilt retreat with a few friends. I picked a couple table runner patterns to start out small. I spent 2 hours at the beginning just remembering how things worked on my machine and practicing a perfect 1/4" seam.
In those 3 days I pieced a table runner using batiks and did a quilt as you go table runner using fall colors. I was back to quilting!
