Cool Hello from Florida's Gulf Coast....

I'm a quilter, retired photographer and graphic artist who's just starting (after all these years) to do Bargello quilts. I find the flow, curves and colors exciting and want to learn how to do them well. I'm hoping to learn some good tips on the designs here.

Welcome from Ontario!
Photographer/graphic artist you say? I may have to pick your brain the next time I want to change a photo into something to do a collage quilt from!

What fun to try a new medium for you. I have plans to do a couple of bargello projects in the next year or so but I haven't done any yet either -- I'm afraid once I get started I might find them a bit addicting. I have a really great wild coral reef fabric that I will use for backing and maybe borders and then pull the rest of the colors out of the print. My other idea is more just a thinking exercise, been thinking of a DNA quilt, done Bargello style to get that double helix sort of design. Would be nice if I could figure how to pull it off!

We do love pictures here, please post when you can
