Hi and welcome from Iowa. I just joined a couple of wks. ago and believe this board to be as addictive as quilting. My husband was born in Detroit and still has a few relatives there. Did have an aunt and cousin in Monroe. Have fun and lose as much sleep as I do because of staying up and reading this site.

raptureready---Where do you live in Illinois? My sister lives in Spring Valley and an aunt lives in Aurora. Small world. I've been retired since '88. I don't feel that old. I still hold my own. Ask anyone. LOL

I live about 2 1/2 hours S. of Chicago, about 1 1/2 W. of Indianapolis, and about 2 hours E. of Springfield, down here in corn country. I used to work for the University of Illinois Champaign campus. I retired 5 years ago with 30 years in so that I could do all the school parties with my DD who was starting first grade.
