I've been watching and reading for several weeks and decided to jump in. I've been quilting since the early 70's but there is still a lot to learn. I retired two years ago and am loving every minute of it. Less money but also less stress and more time to do what I want.

Hi cjaye44,

Same here, except it seems I'm on the computer more than at the sewing machine, soo much stuff to read and see, I love checking out the new fabric that's out but resist buying most of the time, I need to use up what I have, which means I should never have to buy any more fabric. Quality fabric has just about doubled in price, so I'm trying to use what I have unless........

Hello, I had my first quilting class in Lancaster, PA. Way back in the early 70's. It was a free class taught by an Amish woman. In those days I was short on money and long on time so it was a great deal. My first block was applique, the Lancaster Rose. I've done three quilts in that pattern and still am in love with the pattern

Are you close to Sidney, IA? I lived in Nebraska for 16 years and belonged to a guild close to the Iowa line. We had a lot of quilters from around that area.
