Welcome!! First off let me say I am jealous of you being in Venice... our oldest daughter went there while in college and lived on the canals ... worked at the palace for college credit.
My husband is an ex air force guy ... and yes I considered myself part of the military while he was in.
Jennifer(our daughter) always told me that she had her favorite place to get coffee and gelato....
