Default Hi all

I'm from SoCal. Live here with my husband, our cat Bob, and our 21 yo Grand-son. For some reason I can't explain I suddenly wanted to make a quilt for our first Great Grand baby so my husband bought me a Pfaff Smarter 260c. I didn't want one of the complicated computerized models, the Smarter seemed perfect. I did make the baby quilt, it turned out great. I then did a quilt-along with Melanie Ham. That one turned out great too. I'm still working on cutting straight lines and although, my husband keeps telling me to measure twice and cut once, I still have issues.
This site is a wealth of information, I just have to remember to come here.

Welcome.

If you buy (and use) a rotary cutter, quilter's ruler (about 3/16 inch thick), and a cutting mat - that might help with cutting straight lines.

Welcome to the board and to quilting. Cutting and sewing straight lines is the most of what we do and requires hand/eye coordination along with other small muscle skills. Always looks so easy from the outside, but mastering that 1/4" seam or scant 1/4" and being consistent is a great help. It's not much fun... but once it becomes habit, you are good to go. I call it driving practice.
