It has been quite a few years since I have made any quilts. All mine are hand quilted but machine pieced.

I am getting into and love doing table runners. I put a table topper together today 24" X 24".

What do I do first.?
Do I machine stitch around the design blocks

then stitch around the outside edge of the topper

then put the binding on. Of course I know that the binding goes on last. This is all I remember.

Thanks for your input.

Hi and welcome from Michigan! I'd start quilting in the center and work my way out! then add the binding. And be sure to add a picture when you're done!

The piece did not lay down as flat as I would have liked I started sewing from the center out and then put the binding on it.

What would you have done different with this? Can you see what I am talking about in the picture. The yellow fabric is sort of loose and not laying down real flat after quilting it on the machine.

I used Warm and natural for the filler.

Oh, this picture came out pretty large. Should I make it smaller for posting?
