Good Morning and welcome from the Capitol City~! Was it not the most beautiful day yesterday to be a Minnesotan? I sat out on the patio, basking in the sun, binding a quilt with the dog at my feet, birds singing and neighbors hollering "Whatcha making now, Edie?" "Quilt for granddaughter's graduation." (Sure beats rain for practically every day for a week and totally void of sunshine!)

You will love the Quilting Board as it gives you more information than the brain can absorb. It is funny, compassionate, it actually can give you guts to forge ahead when you are ready to drop the whole mess and give up. You don't because all of these super people would probably chew your knee caps off.

Enjoy the day, enjoy the Board - enjoy. Edie

Hey, you're going to love it here. When are you moving up and where are you moving to? Save your money - you will need long johns, down jackets, heavy woolen mittens and that is only for up to September!!!!! Only kidding. Edie

What's with people moving from the warm climes to the god-forsaken tundra of Minnesota??????? Just goes to prove - you gotta have some good icy freezy, bone-chilling, eyebrow frosted, toe tingling, Sorel boots, down jackets, ear warmers, wool socks and hot cocoa (with mini-marshmallows), not to mention muscles for shoveling snow, chopping ice, raking the snow off the roof weather to appreciate the summer, which lasts about ------------------that long! Only kidding. Minnesota is a wonderful state - it's full of Germans and Swedes. There is really a lot of stuff going on here. The State Fair is right in the center of St. Paul, we have the Winter Carnival, Minneapolis has one for the summer (where they have boat races with the boats made out of gallon milk cartons - and to be honest I don't know if they still do that), we have the science museum, the Taste of Minnesota, casinos, horse racing, art museums, MOA (been there once - that was enough). You will enjoy our State - it is beautiful in the Autumn - some areas are absolutely breathtaking - the trip from St. Paul up to Duluth and farther up to Gooseberry Falls, the Boundary Waters, Ely, Minn. and we are not far away from Wisconsin, about 1/2 hour! And the people are wonderful - helpful, kind, fun - oh there are the nasties, but every place has that, enjoy your new life in Minnesota - it is fun to know the cities in Minnesota that quilting board members are from - so be sure and let us know. Happy packing, safe trip up here and enjoy. Edie
