Hi All: I'm new here to the Quilting Board and I'm glad to have this resource available. I'm new to quilting also.
I'm wondering if there's a source where I can go to see if there are any "quilting seminars" scheduled for next year in my area of the Tri-States here in the extreme SE
I come from a Machine Embroidery background and got hooked on quilting last year by taking an Irish Chain class. Instant love. I've done several quilts and quilted projects and I'm interested in learning more. I have mostly Janome equipment and teach digitizing with Janome software at a dealers store. Quilting is fast becoming my main choice though.

I just found your post and hope you are still looking at the forums. I live in Pensacola, and I am wondering myself if there will be any big quilt shows nearby, or training/getaway weekends. They all seem to be in Colorado or Michigan.

What city are you in? My house is 5 minutes from the Alabama state line, right off the 10.

My husband and I are planning to drive to Houston the first weekend of November for the big International Quilt Show they have every year.

Hi Wendy: I live in Ozark Al, which is 22 minutes north of Dothan. Dothan is where I teach Embroidery Digitizing classes on weekends. I work in Dothan full time at Flowers Hospital there. I've still not had any luck finding quilt shows around here. I bound back and forth between quilting and embroidering. It's fun, but I do only have a limited time to share both loves.
If you get up this way let me know.

Just about all the quilting magazines, especially Quilters Newsletter, publish lists of upcoming events state by state. Also check their website for lists.

Hi there, glad that you found us! Maybe you could try contacting quilt shops in your area, they may know about what is going on in your particular area. Good luck with your search, and please share pictures with us, we'd love to see them :D

Welcome, you might also do a state wide search for Quilting and Quilting Shows. I've done that and found that some of the Quilt Guilds open their meetings for seminars and teaching workshops.

Hope you will join in with us often!
