Default Howdy from Massachusetts!

Hello there! I'm new here and just joined, I think I'm going to enjoy this site!

I received a sewing machine for my college graduation and would like to continue the tradition for my two daughters graduating from college this year. My mother-in-law wants to hand down her Bernina 801 sport to my girls but .....which one gets it?! My thought was to buy another and neither girl will ever know which one got their grandmother's.
Thank you! Have a lovely day!

I'm not familiar with the 801 Sport but a quick internet search doesn't show much. If you are going to buy a machine, you might want to buy something that's a bit more common and will be easier on down the line. That being said, do either of your daughters show any inclination to sew or quilt?

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. I don’t have any experience with this machine but look to see reviews and price of a second one.

If the girls have an interest in sewing they may prefer choosing one with features they like better.

Howdy from Texas! Of course you are going to enjoy this site. There are so many, many helpful quilters here who are always ready to answer questions & give encouragement to everyone (old & new quilters). I hope your daughters carry on the quilting tradition.

Hi and welcome from North Carolina! Do your daughters sew and/or quilt now? Or, are the machines will encourage them to start?
