Hello all. Ive been reading posts here and there. I love the comradery here along with help and advice. I have yet to make a quilt ( kinda scared). I have tons of fabric as i always buy fabric especially when in sale. Im a PINK freak with purple and turq. right behind. Im a seasoned sewer going back to having to make my clothes in high school. Store bought clothes didnt fit me... i was 6 ft by age 15. I have the basics but im not a perfectionist which i think will hurt me when quilting. Patience is not my forte! Ive recently had a drastic back surgery and cant do much but do crafts or sew. So i have all the tools i "think" i need and have the fabric so the next step? Any ideas on the very beginings to quilting or great tips and secrets?
Im looking forward to meeting new friends and quilt freaks hehe.
As to my name it is HELL uva ANGEL but im a tad of both ;)

The first book I purchased was Fons and Porters Complete Guide to Quilting. I would recommend getting this type of book. Its starts you out with the most simple blocks and progress' to more complicated ones. When your done, you'll have a sampler quilt.

Hi and welcome from upstate NY. Start with something small and soon you'll be on to bigger and bigger projects. Maybe placemats or a lap quilt. Happy Quilting!!!!

Hello from the great state of Texas. I would start with either a wall hanging or a throw just to get my feet wet. Happy quilting.

Hello from central Illinois. Any beginning to intermediate book will be fine. As long as you don't try to start out by making a Mariner's Compass king size quilt you'll be fine. (save that one for your second one, LOL) No, just find a pattern you really want to do and do your best.
