Hello and welcome from central Alabama. You have a great foundation for sewing, so the learning curve should be short. Just gotta get used to a 1/4 inch seam, and the terminology.

does anyone have a begginers pattern or idea for a first timer? I`m practicing with a laptop sleeve for my daughter-in-law.Using a simple squares and and ayoyoat the sleeves closing.
but for the real deal I need help. Thanks so much! rosie

Welcome from southeast PA! Big advange now is all the video tutorials out there. I had to start with Eleanor Burns books which have lots of pictures for each step.

Thanks so much for your tips and time !It`s beautiful here in east Texas thia a.m.. Getting all my machines(sewing) ready for some cooler temps, I`m a ways off from that yet.:) But loving this cool morn. I wish all of you the best day ever!

Oh so true! I`ve been glued to the PC watching videos will hubby and I take turns staying with my mom-in-law since her back surgery. Amazing how much more time I have on my days here at home. She is doing great @82. We are very blessed in our lives. I wish that for all of you also.
