Hey Y'all from the Carolinas
Hello! Brand spankin' new quilter here in the Charlotte area. I have a gorgeous hand stitched quilt passed down from my great grandmother and it's starting to fall apart. It's the most comfortable and soft quilt and it combined with the fact that I have a niece due in May/June (and a corset pattern sitting in my drawer that I used a tutorial to draw up but have no idea how to sew) made me pull out my mom's sewing machine (she doesn't sew, she got it from my great aunt I think! haha) and start figuring it out.
So far I've pieced together a changing pad out of three old shirts of mine (2 for front, 1 for backing). And then went and bought some fabric to make more! I'm excited to continue my journey and hope to learn a lot with you here on the Quilting Board.

Glad to see another NC member. I am in Salisbury, not that far. Welcome and you will get so much help here. It is the place to be, especially if you are just learning. Sounds like you are on your way.
