Hi! I'm from Michigan and just joined the quilting board. I've been quilting off and on for a little over 30 years; really got hooked on it about 5 years ago when I made a quilt for my oldest daughter's wedding gift.
I love doing machine applique' and make lots of kids quilts with it; most go to charity since all of our gkids have at least one quilt that I made for them. Next year, the three great gkids will each get one for Christmas.
I've been learning to quilt on my domestic machine and recently completed the quilt you can see in my 'avatar'. I call it the monster sized monster quilt because of it's size (it fits a queen size bed and hangs down on three sides). Sure didn't think I'd be able to quilt it myself, but I bit the bullet and decided to try... and I succeeded! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Youngest gson is going to LOVE it (he's getting it for Christmas along with pj's, a monster pillow and a pillowcase).
Looking forward to making more quilting friends. :)

Welcome to the Quilting Board. I have spent many happy weeks in Michigan. I camped there every year for nearly twenty years. The spot I camped was near Alden and Bellaire. I miss those days and the people I camped with.
