It sounds like you need a quilt along. Invite all your quilting friends over and give each one a quilt to work on! welcome from Texas.

Welcome from Virginia . I'm a hand quilter too, but when I get behind, I let my long armers catch me up. I use to think machine quilting was not "authentic" but then the beautiful masterpieces these LA's turn out made me change my mind. I now admire all the artwork we all create, and any tool to help us create more beauties has my vote!

I am terribly nervous of trying machine quilting because in my efforts to try it, I found I knew words that would make a sailor blush, and me too. It was so stressful. I hope you have a calmer outlook. Good luck.

Certainly long arm quilters are brilliant at what they achieve but I still feel that a hand quilted quilt is softer.

Sounds great but we are mostly hand quilters and consequently we are all in the same boat!

Don't terrify me with talk of rulers and FMQ, I'm dreading the thought of teaching myself to machine quilt as it is!!!

And good luck to you too! If only I could hand quilt faster! It's the designing and producing the quilt tops that I enjoy most, the quilting is just something that I have to do to finish them.
