Default New Old Man Quilting

Hello everyone and well after 40 years of watching my wife quilt I myself decided to try it, and to my surprise it's a lot of work but very relaxing, I myself was a Pro Fishing and Outdoor Guide that got hurt 4 years ago and spend a lot of time in a wheelchair and I can only stand for 5 min due to pain so I have a lot of time at home no more hunting and fishing I was told so here go's nothing.
First of all my wife said use my machine and I said ther is no way I will touch your machine well we have four so I used a older Brother she don't use anymore and started a 4 patch out of her scraps.
It has been a week and with wife helping me we just put the backing on and I will post pics later and at least I have tried so take care everyone and God Bless.

Howdy from Texas. I'm so glad you have found that you like quilting. I've tried to get my better half to try it but he just won't take the plunge. I can't wait to see your finished 4 patch quilt!

Welcome to the Board - yours was a different way to the hobby/passion of quilting, but it doesn't matter how you got here!

Welcome to the wonderful hobby of quilting! My husband watches me and tells me that men quilt too but he won't try it. I wish he would.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. When you are ready to try applique, there is a really cute pattern by Sindy Rodenmayer that you may want to try. It is called Caught Ya and it is being offered by fatcatpatterns.com as a block of the month or you can buy it for $15.00 It is all fishing lures.
