Hi, I am Sherry. I live in Kansas. I am new to quilting and this board. I am 68 years old. We just celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. I am taking a class on beginning quilting. I just finished a class on making cathedral windows. It is partly done by machine and then finished hand. I am almost finished with the first 12 windows. I will post it when it is done. I used to sew. It has been a long time since I sewed. Fabric is so much more expensive than it used to be. Wow! I am on a fixed income. If anyone has any left over fabric they do not want, it would be welcome, loved, and use at my home. I promise to take care of it and to nurture it into something great! Well.... I do not know how great it will turn out.

Welcome from Illinois. You'll find that this is a wonderful board with friendly people. You'll also find out all our money saving tricks like cutting up men's cotton shirts from Goodwill and searching for fabric there too. Most of us scrounge through remnants, fabric store clearances, garage sales, estate sales, auctions and thrift stores to boost our stash. If there's someone here that only buys from fabric stores I don't know of them. LOL
