Welcome from the SHO-ME state - Missouri. If you are a garment sewer and can follow a pattern/directions, then you should do fine. The biggest difference is that in quilting, you use a 1/4 inch seam. Good luck and ask us questions if you have any.

Welcome from Nevada! I used to be a seamstress who turned to quilting in her older years. Trust me, it's not quite that simple to just follow a pattern and use 1/4" seams. I found it to be quite a steep learning curve, but just on the quilting stuff. I can't imagine trying quilting without a sewing background, which is very useful to me, and will be for you. But you've come to the right place to find quilting answers from people who are anxious to both learn and give advice. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and I should know because I asked one last week! LOL!
