I've been a quilter for 10 years. I've made one Hawaiian Quilt. But I love to machine quilt. I have three sons and one daughter, two grandsons. I have many to quilt for :D .
I own a Viking SE and I just purchased the mega quilter. I was wondering if any of you own one. I haven't had the time to play with it yet. The attached is a table runner I just made. I embroidered the roses and quilted the runner using the SE. I have enjoyed reading your tips and looking at your beautiful work. Hope to hear from some of you soon :) |
Welcome your runner is very pretty. The shape reminds me of a big butterfly' The green fabric is so nice. You are going to love it here and do post some more pictures you are a great quilter :D

Thank you for sharing, and Welcome! (I just joined today as well.) I have an older machine (Husqvarna Rose) but it works so great that I won't part with it. I have recently been combining embroidery and quilting and having a great time with it... I use a HandiQuilter16 to put everything together. Anyone want to see?

Thankyou all for the warm welcome!! My Hawaiian Quilt is made up of 20 inch squares. Each square is a Hawaiian flower or plant. I thought I would start out this way and if I enjoyed it I would make a quilt using only one pattern. It is quite work intensive , very slow going, but you hand quilters would know that. I enjoy the finish product, but it takes way to long for me. I do intend to make one some day. Hope you like the pictures.

Your Hawaiian quilt is exquisite!-----If I live to be 100, I don't think I would ever have the patience to make that kind of quilt. It makes me admire your work even more!
p.s.---When we were in Hawaii last year, I wanted to buy a Hawaiian appliqued pillow or two to take home. Time after time, sellers would tell me that they were made by Hawaiians. Eventually, though, I learned the truth that the majority of them were made in the Phillipines. Even |
Ohh, I didn't see your Hawaiian quilt, it is magnificent. I love your colors and you did an amazing job on it. Great job!

Paradise Quilter, Those are some of most amazing pieces of work I've seen! I like them VERY much!! Thank you sharing those!!!!

Thankyou for your compliments. If you plan to make it to the Big Island let me know. I'll let you know where you can buy pillows or quilts that are made here on the island. Of course they will be much more expensive than the ones in the Phillipines
