Aloha from Washington
Hi y'all I am Sue from western Washington. I have been sewing for most of my life but started quilting about 4 years ago. What fun! This site has been such a blessing, so much wisdom and wit.
I got a lovely surprise from DH on Christmas after watching me struggle to quilt bigger and bigger pieces on a Designer SE LE. (Great for embroidery and general sewing, NOT a top pick for quilting) He said to pick out any machine and table or frame combo I want. This was not a tough choice. The tough part was dealing with the local store. I still do not have a machine (Janome 8900) but someone in this universe wants to sell me a machine without trying to yank my chain or demand my machine as a trade in. thank you all for the wisdom, the laughs, and the priceless knowledge that is shared on here. |

Welcome to the quilting board from sunny Nevada! I too am looking at the Janome 8900, and I've been to two dealers so far. The first one had a salesman that wouldn't shut up, and never answered my questions. The second is twisting my arm to have me trade in a "not so old" Janome. I want a second machine -- hello? Are you listening? It's frustrating, to say the least.

Welcome from Michigan!:)

I got it! 2500 out door no trade in. Montavilla sewing center in Portland Oregon. They even have their newspaper ad on their website. Tell your shop they need to match it.
