Hello, Mary and Welcome. I am originally from Iowa, about 2 hrs drive from where you live. My whole family (mother and dad) were from Iowa (Pocohontas County). So, welcome to the Board. Lots of nice people here.

Hi ! Fortunately I stayed high and dry during all the flooding. I live on the Wapsipinicon River and it is always overflowing its banks. I live far enough away on a hill that if it ever floods my place the whole county better head for higher ground. My son lives in Cedar Rapids, but luckily he also was high and dry. My daughter lived in Iowa City during the flood, and she also remained safe from floodwaters. I hope that some day Cedar Rapids and Iowa City come back to relatively normal times again. So much loss...

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome from Central Iowa. I know what you mean about rain soaked Iowa. The members here are so helpful. I learn something new every time I check out the site.
