Another Newbie!
Hello!
I am a new quilter, having finished just a few projects. Most of my time is spent either Knitting, or teaching Knitting. Recently retired, I have been encouraged to quilt, as well. I have been blessed to have a mentor who is a wonderful, encouraging friend. She has encouraged me though, from afar...I live in New York City, she in Maine and Florida! So ours is a mostly email relationship. I am absolutely fascinated with Bargello quilting and would love to know if there I a good, basic book on this technique. The New York Public Library has only a few books available, and most seem to be pattern books, rather than technique. Thanks for any help you can offer! |

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Can't think of a book right now but try looking the net. One of my favourites resources are the tutorials done by Jenny Doan for the Missouri Star Quilt co. on youtube.

Welcome from NJ. Just picked up my knitting needles a couple of hours ago after far too long away from them. Of course, I don't have the ones I need for the project I want to do, so I guess a trip to our new yarn/knitting shop here in town will be on my agenda for tomorrow! Maybe I should check the attic first! Enjoy the quilting process. Have you checked for e-books for the bargello technique? Sorry I have no recommendations for you.

Hello, welcome from Nevada.

Welcome from the SHO-ME state - Missouri! My advice would be not to start on a bargello first. That would take some very advanced skills in cutting and sewing - you have to be so precise. Just my humble opinion - JMHO!!!
