Hello All,

I'm new to quilting/sewing and the Quilting Board. I'm quite the novice at both. I've only made 2-3 quilts in my life. I got started when my sister-in-law gave me a bunch of quilting tools that she got at a garage sale
last year. So far, I'm sticking to the easy patterns (nine patch, rail fence & hand applique on large blocks).
Included with my quilting tools given to me, there was a small washer-type thing with a small hole for the pencil to mark 1/4" seams on curved pieces. I've recently moved, and somehow that little tool was lost. It was probably the most important tool to me for marking my curved applique stitches. Does anyone know what it's called and where I can get another one...or 2,3,4...?

Thanks ... :D

A big welcome from Ireland, I know exactly the thing you are describing, but sorry, don't know it's name. Have you tried looking under notions until you find the thingy? Best of luck, I am sure someone here knows what it's called.

I've looked everywhere under notions. I have spent lots of time looking, much to the chagrin of my husband. So far, no luck. I'm sure someone here will know where I can find one. Thanks.

Welcome from Florida!

I think I saw those at the Fons & Porter site, but not 100% sure.

Hello, and welcome from Missouri. I DO know the tool you mean, but since I only have the thingy, not the package, I don't know what it is called either. It sure is a handy thing, though!

Hi and welcome from MN.

Would someone mind posting a pic of the thingy? Now you've got my curiosity up.

That little tool made my hand turned applique so easy. All my stitches looked so nice, even, and straight. Believe me, hand stitching is not one of my best talents. It takes some time to mark up your lines, but it saves a lot of aggravation with "funky-looking" hand stitches. Thus the reason for the desperation to find one.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes :D I finally found the tool I was looking for. It's a quilter's wonder wheel by collins. I found it at createforless. I ordered 6 just to make sure I always can find one. :)

Shemjo 10-31-2009 06:40 AM

Duh! When you said the name, of course, that is it! Glad you found it. I haven't found mine, but I am not doing applique right now! :?

Hi Yaya, glad you were able to find what you were looking for :).
I had two of them in a gift bag from last year and didn't realize what they were for--now I do

I love your avator and I see that you were able to add your quote--way to go!
