Thanks everyone for your warm welcome messages.
Not doing much sewing at the moment too hot & humid in Queensland.

Hi Lis..and welcome from another Queenslander...don't know where you are but I'm on the Gold Coast :) I'm quite new to quilting and really enjoying it

I'm in Gympie, hoping the rain stays away till next week. Having concrete footing poured for my new verandah this Thursday. This project was to be ready for Christmas but not now.

Oh..hasn't the rain been awful...hope you're not at risk of flooding? We're on high ground so should be ok :)

No chance of flooding when I bought in Gympie I was only intrested in properties on a hill.
But do get run off water from neighbouring properties running down the side of the yard to the back of my property - its nice I have a little creek about a metre wide in the small gully in the back yard.

During all the rain we had here the other week, we had a little creek about a metre wide running through under the house, over the paving and spouting up through the deck like a fountain. It drained away within hours and just left the silt for me to clean up and 6" of water sitting in my bird aviaries. Thank goodness this doesn't happen too often and we are on a slope away from the house.
