Hi all,
I've been quilting for about 5 years. I'm self taught and have made about 8 quilts of various sizes. I'd like to take a class so that I can find out all the things I've been doing wrong. =) I recently got married and my husband cleared out one of the smaller bedrooms for me to use as a craft room. I'm in heaven with all the space! My apartment didn't really allow for me to leave a quilt sitting out in stages. I'm working on a crazy log cabin - paintbox type quilt. Each block is made up of three tones of the same color (ex: dark blue, light blue, medium blue). I just bought a new machine (a Brother XR-9000) and am having a great time with it. I can't wait to get a walking foot for it b/c I've never used one before. Thanks for reading. Smiling, Sylvia |

Hi Sharon,
I made him one last year. He has a goofy thing for punk rock music with all those skull & crossbone logos. So i made him a big huge skull & cross bones quilt with black and white fabric strips. I went to JoAnn to get fabric and they had lots of bolts with similar themes from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. While I was having it cut, a few older ladies heard me joking about him and replied "Oh, he'll grow out of it." (they assumed it was for a little boy) I told them "he's 38" and they just got very quiet and looked away. LOL! Thanks for welcoming me. Best, Sylvia |
