I haven't been here in a long while. Don't even remember how long... But am doing some flimsies again. Trying to make a really long table runner & don't know what kind of batting to put in it so that it will be thin & things won't be tippy. Any help figuring that out would be great. Need to have it done by Christmas. it will be a gift for my great grand daughter.

I have used warm and natural or flannel for my runners. Both work well. Welcome back from another Wisconsinite.

Welcome back to the QB! I hope to see a good deal of you here this time around. I use Warm and Natural for table runners. it gives a nice smooth appearance to most any fabric used to make the top or backing. I would give it a try. Again I do hope to see you here it is a lot of fun here.

I just finished a long table runner. Instead of batting I used felt because it lays flat and keeps its shape. I make mostly art quilts, and large ones. My last had 5 layers: top, wool batting, warm and white, felt and back -- and it hangs perfectly straight on the wall. I've been wondering if felt alone would work, and it does. For a wall quilt I think I'd add a layer of wool batting for depth, and delete the warm and white.
